Precooking these beans allows for a low-mess camp cook kitchen but a great and filling meal!!!

Ingredients

• 1lb dry Great Northern beans

• 1 cup ketchup (preferably sans high fructose corn syrup)

• 1 cup barbecue sauce

• 2 tbsp. cumin

• 1/4 cup mustard

• 1 cup tightly packed brown sugar

• 1/4 cup diced garlic

• 1 cup blueberries

• 3 whole pickled jalapenos

Directions

1. Soak beans in water overnight. Cover beans by at least 3 inches of water.

2. Day 2: Drain the beans.

3. Have a great nights rest, you’re going camping soon!

4. Add all the ingredients to a crock pot MINUS the brown sugar.

5. Stir ingredients together.

6. Top the stirred mixture evenly with the brown sugar.

7. Turn crock pot on low setting.

8. Cook for 8-10 hours stirring occasionally.

9. If the beans are tasting too spicy for you liking remove the jalapenos and add a small amount of sugar.

10. Once fully cooked, allow beans to sit in the fridge overnight for the flavors to coalesce.

11. Partner the beans with a campfire, garlic bread, family and a sunset for the ages.
